Jesus: His word...

His Word! As we are preparing to launch Focus Retreats for '05 - '06, our theme is "Truth on Fire". I am hoping this theme will prepare us all for National Conference where our theme is "Hearts on Fire."

"Jesus: His Word, His Church, His Mission" is our Flag, or statement of core values. Essential to our love for Jesus is our love for His Word. Submission to the Bible as the voice of God, our authority, has always been an identifying feature of the FGBC. I want to call us back to this core value - submission to biblical authority.

The FGBC still affirms and defends the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible, the inerrancy, the infallibility, the perspicuity, and the authority Bible. If that sentence throws you, let me say it this way - we believe the Bible is from God, is totally true, is never wrong, is able to be understood, and is effective and powerful to change lives.

So, listen to the Bible being taught (that's what Grace Brethren Churches specialize in). Read it. Study it. Apply it. Obey it. Communicate it. It is, after all, the very voice, or "breath", of God!
